Emerald Isle, N.C. (January 25, 2018) — Entrepreneur magazine has named Transportation Impact of Emerald Isle to its Entrepreneur 360 List. Transportation Impact was ranked 187 on the 2018 list of 360 top entrepreneurial businesses.

For each of the past four years, Entrepreneur magazine has conducted a nationwide search to find the most entrepreneurial firms in the United States, identifying 360 small companies that are mastering the art and science of growing a business. The companies are ranked based on their ability to expertly balance impact, innovation, growth, leadership, and value.

“Our annual evaluation of vetted data offers a 360-degree analysis of top privately held companies across a multitude of industries,” explains Jason Feifer, editor in chief of Entrepreneur magazine. “The businesses that make the list have pushed boundaries with their innovative ideas, fostered strong company cultures, impacted their communities for the better, and increased their brand awareness.”

In the ten years since Travis Burt and Keith Byrd co-founded Transportation Impact in 2008, the North Carolina-based supply chain management firm has grown from 0 to 63 employees and nearly 900 customers. Transportation Impact specializes in helping high-volume small package and freight shippers reduce the costs associated with those services. Currently TI manages over a billion dollars in logistics spend and has helped its customers save more than $250 million.

“It is an honor not only to make this list of top entrepreneurial firms, but also to place in the middle in our first year,” said Burt. “I firmly believe that the consistency of our rapid growth is due to our unwavering commitment to our five core values of work ethic, integrity, professionalism, passion, and perfection.”

From the very beginning, giving back to the community has been as much a part of the company’s ethos as providing great value to customers. In early 2017 that practice of giving back was formalized as IMPACT1 — Improvements Made by People ACTing as One — a pledge to provide 1% in goodwill services, 1% of employee time, and 1% of company profit to the community.

“This award is proof that our dedication to providing 360-degree value — to customers, community, employees, and the company itself — is the way of the future for business and a path to long-term, sustainable success that benefits everyone,” said Byrd.
