Emerald Isle, N.C. (July 12, 2018) — Three high school students from Carteret County, North Carolina, have been awarded $2500 scholarships towards their college tuition by Transportation Impact.

The successful applicants are Kamryn Haut of Swansboro High School, who will attend Meredith University in fall 2018; Hannah Paul of Croatan High School, who will attend University of North Carolina in fall 2018; and Anna Loynes of West Carteret High School, who will attend Wake Forest University in fall 2018.

Each year, the Transportation Impact and First Flight Solutions Scholarships are awarded to Carteret County students who wow the scholarship committee with their high school achievements and their future goals. Each awardee must also demonstrate the companies’ five core values of work ethic, integrity, professionalism, passion, and perfection.

To be considered for the scholarship, students must submit a written application. A committee consisting of one TI employee from each department reviews the applications and then chooses five applicants from each school to interview. The selection of this year’s recipients was influenced by the fact that company employees have children at the three schools attended by the successful candidates.

“This community is very important to us, so it was wonderful to see how many students applied for the scholarship this year,” said Travis Burt, Co-Founder of Transportation Impact, which is headquartered in Emerald Isle, NC. “We look for the qualities that we consider vital to success in business and in life, Hannah, Anna, and Kamryn really impressed us with how they embody those qualities. We wish all three of them great success in their studies and their future!”
