TI and First Flight Solutions Announce Key Leadership Changes

Emerald Isle, N.C. (October 1, 2019) — Transportation Impact and First Flight Solutions today announced key changes in top leadership, including the appointment of a new president and two new executive vice presidents. The founders and owners will take an advisory role on the board of directors.

Vice President of Sales Berkley Stafford has been appointed to the new position of President, effective October 1, 2019. Stafford joined Transportation Impact in 2013 from Envirotainer, where he was Head of Healthcare Sales. Prior to that he worked for 15 years at UPS in a variety of sales and operational capacities.

“Berkley’s experience and operational acumen make him well qualified to guide our companies into their next phase of growth,” said Partner and Co-Founder Travis Burt. “We have the utmost confidence in Berkley’s leadership.”

In further changes, VP Operations, John Howard, and VP Information Technology, Norm Pollock, have been appointed Executive Vice Presidents to support Stafford. Director of Sales, Jamie Vogel, will become Vice President of Sales and Marketing, and Director of Operations, Brian Byrd, will become Vice President of Operations.

“Change and evolution of teams happens in every business.  There is a tremendous amount of trust and belief in each other as a leadership team and our people as part of our culture.  These changes will allow us to carry on the legacy of our founders and poise us for growth and greater success in the future,” said Vice President of Sales and Marketing Jamie Vogel.

Owners Keith Byrd, Travis Burt, and Doug Starcke will remain involved in an advisory role as members of the board of directors, while the day-to-day operational aspects and cultural preservation will be handled by the new leadership team. The leadership team will report to the BoD on a quarterly basis and will be held accountable for the sustainable and profitable growth of the companies.

In an email to employees announcing the upcoming change in leadership, Partner and Co-Founder Keith Byrd wrote:

“We are embarking on a very important and pivotal time in our company’s brief history. For the past eleven years, we have experienced tremendous success mostly due to the great people that Travis, Doug, and I have surrounded ourselves with. As we look to the future, it’s time to allow the new generation of leaders to take us to the next level, and we’re excited as owners, as to what that might bring.”
