Transportation Impact Named to Business North Carolina Private 125 for 2019

Emerald Isle, N.C., (October 1, 2019)—Transportation Impact has been named to the Business North Carolina Private 125 (formerly the Grant Thornton North Carolina 100® [NC100]), a unique list of the state’s largest privately held companies. It is the fourth consecutive year the company has earned a place on the list.

“We are thrilled to have made the list as one of North Carolina’s top companies for a fourth consecutive year,” said John Howard, Executive Vice President of Transportation Impact. “North Carolina is our home, so it’s both exciting and rewarding to receive this confirmation that we are contributing in a significant way to the future of this state.”

Since Keith Byrd and Travis Burt co-founded the company in 2008, Transportation Impact has grown to over 1000 customers and over 80 employees, with a forecast revenue of $50 million for 2019. The company specializes in helping high-volume small package and freight shippers reduce the costs associated with those services, and this year is projected to save customers an average of 19.9% on their shipping spend.

To date, TI has managed over a billion dollars of logistics spend and has helped its customers save more than $551 million.

“Now that we’ve passed a decade in business, we’re looking to build on that solid foundation and grow to the next level,” said Berkley Stafford, President of Transportation Impact. “This award provides a benchmark that we are on track to that objective. Our strategy is to help other companies to achieve their goals, because when they succeed, we succeed.”

Business North Carolina magazine has published a largest private company list for more than 35 years based on annual revenue provided by the businesses. This year’s edition expanded to 125 concerns and includes several companies that rank among the state’s largest but didn’t voluntarily provide financial details. In those instances, magazine editors estimated the revenue based on research. This is the only list of its kind in the state.

The complete list was released in the October issue of Business North Carolina. For more information on the 2019 Private 125 list, contact David Mildenberg, BNC Editor, at dmildenberg@businessnc.com.
