Transportation Impact makes Business North Carolina Top 125

Emerald Isle, N.C. (Sept. 2, 2020) — Transportation Impact is proud to announce the company has again been listed on the Business North Carolina Top 125. It is the fifth consecutive year the company has made the list, which recognizes the state’s largest privately held companies.

Since Keith Byrd and Travis Burt co-founded the company in 2008, Transportation Impact has grown to nearly 1000 customers and 88 employees. The company specializes in helping high-volume small package and freight shippers reduce the costs associated with those services, and this year is projected to save customers an average of 19.9% on their shipping spend.

TI manages over a billion dollars of logistics spend and has helped its customers save more than $646 million.

“We are fully committed to North Carolina, so making this list for a fifth consecutive year is a good measure of our commitment and our success,” said Transportation Impact CEO Berkley Stafford. “From the start, our single mission has been to help shippers save money, both through reducing direct spend and through finding and seizing opportunities to optimize operations. When our clients succeed, we succeed.”

The Business North Carolina Top 125

The Business North Carolina Top 125 “showcases the hometown businesses that sustain North Carolina’s economy, often with little or no fanfare. To say they are the backbone of the Tar Heel economy is an understatement,” notes the official press release announcing the 2020 list. This year TI moved up one spot to 124.

Business North Carolina magazine has published a largest private company list for more than 35 years. The list is based on annual revenue provided by the businesses. This year’s edition includes several companies that rank among the state’s largest but didn’t voluntarily provide financial details. In those instances, magazine editors estimated the revenue based on research. This is the only list of its kind in the state.
